A. Stradivari Violin Loan by Stradivari Stiftung Habisreutinger

In March 2019, Sumina was loaned a fine italian violin by famed violinmaker Antonio Stradivari, made in Cremona, Italy in 1707. This loan is made possible by the swiss foundation Stradivari-Stiftung Habisreutinger.
This violin is a new addition to their collection. Sumina joins their instrument loan roster of musicians such as Antoine Tamestit, Xiaoming Wang, and more.

Antonio Stradivari is almost universally regarded as the greatest violin maker in history, and the value of his instruments reflects that exalted status. The pinnacle of Stradivari's career is known as the Golden Period and lasted roughly from 1700 to 1720, which includes Sumina’s instrument. Stradivari made nearly a thousand instruments, of which about only 650 survive.
